Things to Note concerning the general overview of AWS
- Amongst all the cloud providers that exist AWS is the lead with the greater market share
- You can build everything on AWs and it is applicable to diverse industries. Companies such as Dropbox, Netflix( which we all love 😁), Airbnb and even NASA all host their services on AWS.
- Also AWS is global service meaning it is all around the world where in we have Regions, availability zones, data centers and edge locations. a) Region: It is a cluster of data centers and they are found all over the world eg us-east-1 , us-east-2 and many more b)Availability zones: They are found in regions usually 3 but can go up to 6 maximum eg us-east-1a , us-east-1b and us-east-1c. They are each made up of several data centers. NB: they are usually separated from each other to avoid loss incase of a disaster. c) Edge Locations: used for content deliver to users with low latency possible .
